What Is a Courtesy Vehicle?

Every once in a while, you may see a newer vehicle driving around Schaumburg with signage on it that says “Courtesy Vehicle” with dealer license plates. There might also be a time when you need a car to drive when yours is in the shop.

Our Elgin auto dealership offers Chevrolet courtesy vehicles to our customers. You might also see some Chevrolet ex-loaner cars for sale on our lot. Our experts discuss courtesy vehicles and ex-loaner cars to help you decide if you ever need one or might want to purchase one for your Streamwood excursions.

What Is a Courtesy Vehicle?

A dealer-owned courtesy vehicle represents a vehicle owned by the dealership that’s used just for business purposes. People from the dealership use these vehicles to pick up or drop off customers at a local destination while their vehicle is being worked on for a few hours. For longer maintenance, service, or repairs, a courtesy vehicle becomes a loaner. A loaner car is a temporary rental for customers whose vehicles are in our service center undergoing longer repairs, such as bodywork, transmission repair, or some other issue that requires more extensive work.

A Chevrolet courtesy vehicle comes in handy for customers who need to go about their ordinary lives while their normal vehicle is in the shop. Courtesy vehicles and loaner cars are some of the many benefits of bringing your vehicle in for service to our dealership.

What Are Demonstrator Vehicles?

Demonstrator vehicles are similar to courtesy cars in that the dealership owns them. However, employees of the dealership, such as salespeople, managers, or owners, drive them as a way to show off the capabilities of new vehicles. Dealerships typically get new demonstrator vehicles every year or two.

Demonstrator vehicles have not been registered with the state, meaning they are technically not used vehicles. This means demonstrators, and even courtesy vehicles, can be sold in like-new condition.

If you want a late model vehicle that’s like new but less expensive than new because of the mileage, consider purchasing a Chevrolet courtesy vehicle, demonstrator vehicle, or ex-loaner car to get a high-quality SUV in your garage.

Why Are Courtesy or Ex-Loaner Vehicles a Good Purchase?

Many Bartlett dealerships put courtesy and ex-loaner vehicles up for sale as certified pre-owned vehicles

You’ve got several great reasons to buy a Chevrolet ex-loaner car or demonstrator vehicle from our lot:

  • These vehicles have been well-maintained and in top condition
  • Low mileage and are typically driven just in the city
  • Only one owner and a clear title
  • Newer model year, typically just one or two years old
  • Eligible for discounts, dealer incentives, and new vehicle specials
  • Still under factory warranty
  • You know exactly what service or maintenance is needed next
