If you have seen a Chevy Volt near Elgin or Schaumburg, chances are it came from the huge inventory at Biggers Chevy. The Chevy Volt first hit the streets early in the 2011 model year and has garnered major attention for it’s now famous plug-in electric and gasoline hybrid engine. Since it’s debut, the Volt has been considered the most successful electric car on the market and has been dubbed the most fuel-efficient compact car by the EPA.

The Triumph of the Chevy Volt

In addition to numerous accolades in efficiency, the Volt has been greatly complimented by its exceptional comfort and style. The first Chevy Volt, available in 2011, brought 17-inch aluminum wheels, Bluetooth, navigation, touch panel with DVD and mp3 playback, BOSE premium audio, a 30GB hard drive, and much more. With Chevy’s introduction of the Volt, it was made evident that manufacturing a car with the very best in fuel economy and environmental awareness didn’t have to mean a compromise in luxury.

The 2012 model year brought the same great features of the 2011 model but was even better. Standard with every trim came a keyless entry that allows locking and unlocking according to your proximity to the vehicle. Chevrolet also added the new MyLink feature which can integrate the driver’s smartphone and other devices with your vehicle.

In 2013, you’ll find the liftgate and roof are now body colored and a new “Pebble Beige” interior is available in cloth and leather. Improved energy-efficient audio is added to the mix, as well as improved GPS-based navigation.

The Volt has won numerous awards including the 2012 International Engine of the Year Award in the category of Green Engine, 2012 Total Cost of Ownership Award in the electric car category granted by Kelly Blue Book, and the 2011 Edison Award for the transportation category.
