If anything happens to your vehicle, your warranty is your key to savings. Chevrolet offers an incredible warranty that provides incredible coverage. Similarly, the Volt has a 6 year corrosion warranty that beats the Fusion Energi’s 5 year warranty. One of the biggest differences between the two is the scheduled maintenance package. While Ford doesn’t offer this, Chevy includes free scheduled maintenance for 2 years and 24,000 miles; this adds up to significant savings.

In NHTSA’s side impact tests, the Volt scored a perfect 5-star rating. The Fusion Energi only earned a 4-star rating. The Volt also includes more convenient child safety locks. While both include child safety locks, the Volt has power safety locks that can be engaged from the driver’s seat. The Fusion Energi uses manual locks, which takes more time and effort.

Chevy really surges ahead when it comes to performance. The Volt has an electric range that reaches 81% further than the Fusion Energi. The Volt’s fuel mileage reaches up to 101 MPGe in the city with a 38 mile range. The Fusion Energi has an 88 Combined MPGe with only a 21 mile range.

The Volt is a more compact choice with better maneuverability, since it is one foot shorter compared to the Fusion Energi. You can easily back into any parking spot with the smaller Volt. Despite this smaller size, the Volt actually has a significantly larger trunk for cargo storage. The Fusion Energi offers 8.2 cubic feet of cargo space, but the Volt has a 10.6 cubic feet.
