2014 Chevy Impala vs. 2014 Ford Taurus
Here at Biggers Chevy in Elgin, we’re very proud of our selection of mid-size sedans, highlighted by the 2014 Chevy Impala. Schaumburg area drivers in search of a fun, safe, comfortable vehicle would really enjoy everything the new Impala has to offer. Other reliable cars that you might come across while researching this segment will probably include the 2014 Ford Taurus. While both the new Ford Taurus and Chevy Impala are impressive vehicles, the new Impala has a few advantages over the Taurus that make it the better buy. Take a look!
- Performance: The standard engine under the hood of the 2014 Chevy Impala 2LTZ is a 3.6L V6 engine that puts out 305 hp and 264 lb-ft of max torque. This powertrain provides responsive acceleration on-demand with ease. The 2014 Ford Taurus 3.5L V6 engine, while still impressive, is only capable of 288 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque.
- Safety and Security Features: Both the 2014 Chevy Impala and the 2014 Ford Taurus offer an available collision warning system, except the new Chevy Impala’s collision system uses active emergency braking. Forward mounted sensors on the Impala warn the driver of a possible collision and if the driver doesn’t react in time, the Impala will automatically apply the brakes at full-force. The collision system of the new Ford Taurus won’t automatically apply the brakes.
- Interior Luxuries: Bluetooth wireless connectivity is standard for all 2014 Chevy Impala models. Make or receive phone calls safely using the new Impala’s steering wheel-mounted controls and stream audio using your favorite mobile applications. The 2014 Ford Taurus only offers Bluetooth connectivity as a standard option with select trim levels.
