Design

The exterior of the 2017 Impala has daytime running lamps for improved visibility on the road. Move up to the Premier trim for energy-efficient LED daytime running lamps. The LS and LT trims come with halogen headlights, but you can choose the Premier trim for High-Intensity Discharge lighting for extra vibrancy. Move into the cabin, and there are 10 airbags that defend driver and front passengers at every angle – including knee protection in the front. The airbag system also detects passenger presence, so it can sense precisely where assistance is needed. Finally, you can count on the Impala to be family-friendly with its rear child locks and windows. It also includes the LATCH system for child car seats.

Safety Tech

The Impala can be outfitted with extra safety technology to enhance your ride. The optional rear vision camera activates the 8-inch screen when you put the Impala into reverse, and it displays guidelines for your convenience. You can also add Forward Collision Alert to the Impala for warnings about hazards ahead. Lane Departure Warning is another optional system, and it alerts you when you leave your lane.

We also recommend optional Rear Cross Traffic Alert for its capability to sense traffic and objects behind the vehicle. OnStar Guidance Plan is included for three months. It provides access to Roadside Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Automatic Crash Response, and so much more. The Impala is loaded with cutting-edge tech to keep you and your passengers safe.

Active and Passive Safety

While the Impala’s design and technology offer tremendous protection, Chevy also integrated many active and passive safety features as well. The standard three-point seatbelts can be adjusted, which means passengers will feel comfortable while staying safe. The front passengers have safety belt pretensioners to lock them in during a collision. The standard StabiliTrak enhances vehicle stability during slippage, and there is also a traction control system. Additionally, there is a 4-wheel anti-lock brakes system to deliver excellent steering when the road is slippery.
