Chevys 100th Anniversary Parade

Chevrolet is celebrating a century of history and success and for the occasion many festivities are on the American automaker calendar. Chevy is 100 year old and proud to be.

The most recent celebration took place down Woodward Avenue in Detroit, MI where close to a 100 Chevrolet cars were parading with joy.

First, came a troupe of classic Chevy models with their roaring engines. Then, came the silence of the future. Following the vintage Dream Cruise in Chevy's 100-year celebratory parade, were close to 50 quiet Chevrolet Volt electric vehicles (EVs). Some prospective and forthcoming models, such as the new Chevy Camaro ZL1 and 2012 Chevy Sonic, were also celebrating.

The drivers were as diversify as the Chevy models on display. Long-time enthusiasts and GM engineer, Jeef Langhart, was among them. Conveying the typical, deep connection Chevy drivers feel with their vehicles, Langhart recollected, "The first time I saw it [1969 Camaro Z28], I fell in love, like with my wife."1

And other enthusiasm driver, was a retired farmer, Roger Kitten driving his Electric car from Slaton, Texas.  "I think this Volt is going to be a classic in the next 100 years,"
