Chevy Helps Giving Hope to Children

Chevrolet has decided to give back to the communities for the Holiday seasons, more specifically to the sincere hopes and dreams of children.

To accomplish this deed, the American automaker is partnering with celebrity photographer, Linda Solomon and sponsoring the 2011 Pictures of Hope Program. If you are not familiar with the annual program, Pictures of Hope provides cameras to children coping with at-risk living situations and those living in homeless shelters. The kids then have the opportunity to take pictures of their day-to-day lives and caption them with words about their hopes for the United States of America.

"Their hopes and dreams captured in quiet moments tell a story that few adults can imagine. When you show children that you care about what they wish for in life, perhaps a child who never felt he or she had self worth, now will"1, said Linda Solomon.

Showing their hopes with people could have great impacts on the children's life. Brittanie is a very good example of this. As a past program participant, she photographed and expressed her dream to get a scholarship to college. Brittanie's picture of hope and sincere words has touched others, as she was in fact later granted a four-year scholarship.

Participant in the program will see there work transformed into holiday cards, Chevy customers, at select Chevrolet dealerships in the U.S., will receive Picture of Hope cards through Christmas. Customers are invited, if they wish, to make a contribution to the program and participating dealers will match donations to different charities organization in the cities where kids participated in the 2011 Pictures of Hope.

Biggers Chevrolet, in Elgin, IL encourages you to spread hope this season, with donations or any other ways that is best for you. If you have questions about Chevy giving initiatives, don't hesitate to contact us.
