The changes to the Camaro for 2013 are extensive, including both a convertible and a coupe option planned. The 2013 Camaro ZL1 convertible will be Chevrolet's most powerful convertible ever, featuring an output of 580 hp and 556 lb-ft of torque. It sports a 6.2L LSA V-8 engine, which aids it in over-powering all direct competitors. Most of the enhancements to the ZL1 coupe will carry over to the convertible, which includes a new transmission, stronger rear-end components, and a quad exhaust pipe.For 2013, nearly 1/3 of the Chevy Camaro's parts are being altered, upgraded, or completely replaced. This year, buyers will get a choice of a Tremec TR-6060 MG9 six-speed manual transmission or a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic transmission. Also included in the latest model are an Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) supercharger and the Performance Traction Management (PTM) system, originally created for the Corvette ZR1, this system modulates engine torque for an optimum launch performance and varies the traction control and suspension damping when needed. Also carried over from the Corvette is an active exhaust system. The 2013 Camaro is equipped with 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, which are fitted with second-generation Goodyear F1 Supercar radial tires.
